Celebrating 50 Years
in the Triad!
Roam through the Dinosaur Gallery and come face-to-face with a 36 foot Tyrannosaurus rex model. Discover Earth's masterpieces in the Gem and Mineral Gallery. Enjoy touch labs featuring aquatic life. Visit live snakes, amphibians and sea creatures. Wander though Animal Discovery, our new outdoor zoological park, and come face to face with tigers, gibbons, wallabies, lemurs, howler monkeys and many, many others!
Explore Kids Alley (ages 5 and under) and interact with exciting traveling exhibits . Take a trip to the stars in the OmniSphere Theater or view the sun in the solar observatory. Find unusual gifts and educational toys for imaginative minds in the Thesaurus Shoppe.
And from July 30 through November 27, we will have the blockbuster exhibit Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition on display featuring over 120 real artifacts recovered from the ship's debris field on the ocean floor, room recreations and a real iceberg wall! Click here for more info.
The facility offers plenty of free parking, an indoor area for lunch and is handicap accessible. Adjacent to Country Park, the site also offers outdoor picnic facilities, a modern playground, two small lakes and nature trails.
Eating Options? Picnic facilities and covered shelters at the adjacent Country Park can be reserved in advance (for a fee) by calling the Parks & Recreation Department at (336) 373-5888. Shelters may also be reserved online through the City of Greensboros web site (click on Parks and Recreation, then select shelters). The Center also has a limited indoor eating area which you may use (cannot reserve). Vending machines with beverages and snacks are available here for your convenience. There are also numerous fast-serve eating establishments located within a five to ten minute drive.
